Troubleshooting
I hear other calls when using the teleph one.
Disconnect the telephone base fro m the telephone wall jack. Plug in a diffe rent
telephone. If you still hear other calls, the pro blem is probably in the wiring or
telephone service. Call your telephon e service provider.
I hear noise on the cordless handset an d the keys do not work.
Make sure the telephone line cord is plugge d in securely.
registration failed appears on t he handset.
Only one handset can be registered at a time. If you h ave multiple handsets to
register, please follow the instructions on p age 52 for the rst handset. Once a
handset has been successfully regi stered, repeat the steps for each handset t hat
needs to be registered.
Make sure that the telephone base and handset(s) are in idle m ode when registering
a handset.
Follow the steps on page 60 for the common cure fo r electronic equipment, then tr y
again to register a handset.
My caller ID features are not working pro perly.
Caller ID is a subscription service. You must subs cribe to this service from your
telephone service provider for thi s feature to work on your telephone.
The caller may not be calling from an area which su pports caller ID.
Both your and your caller’s telephone servi ce providers must use equipment
compatible with the caller ID servi ce.
The caller ID information shows after the r st or second ring.
If you subscribe to high-speed Internet s ervice (digital subscriber l ine - DSL) through
your telephone line, you must install a DSL lter bet ween the telephone line cord
and the telephone wall jack. The lter prevents n oise and caller ID problems caused
by DSL interference. Contact your DSL serv ice provider for more information ab out
DSL lters.
The telephone does not receive call er ID or the telephone does not show caller ID during call waiting.
Make sure you subscribe to caller ID with call wai ting features provided by your
telephone service provider.
