Troubleshooting
Low battery shows on screen.
Place the handset in the telephone base or ch arger for recharging.
Remove and install the battery again and us e it until fully depleted, then rechar ge
the handset in the telephone base or charg er for up to 16 hours.
If the above measures do not correct the prob lem, replace the battery.
The battery does not charge in th e handset or the handset batter y does not accept charge.
Make sure the handset is placed in the telepho ne base or charger correctly. The
ChArGe light on the handset should be o n.
Remove and install the battery again, the n charge for up to 16 hours.
If the handset is in the telephone base or char ger but the ChArGe light on the
handset is not on, refer to The ChArGe light is o ff in this section.
If the battery is completely depleted , it can take up to 10 minutes to charge the
handset before Low battery appear s on the screen (page 4).
Purchase a new battery. Refer to the Batter y section (page 51).
The ChArGe light is off.
Clean the charging contacts on the han dset and telephone base each month wi th a
pencil eraser or a dry non-abrasive fa bric.
Make sure the power adapter and telephone line cor d are plugged in correctly
and securely.
Unplug the power adapter. Wait for 15 seconds before plugging it b ack in. Allow up
to one minute for the handset and telephone bas e to reset.
The telephone does not ring when ther e is an incoming call.
Make sure the handset ringer volume is not set to the l owest level (page 11) and the
telephone base ringer volume is not set to zero (pa ge 11).
Make sure the telephone line cord and power adapte r are plugged in properly
(page 2).
The handset may be too far from the telephone bas e. Move it closer to the
telephone base.
There may be too many extension phones on the tele phone line to allow all of them
to ring simultaneously. Unplug some of them.
If the other telephones in your home are having the s ame problem, the problem is in
the wiring or telephone service. Con tact your telephone service pr ovider.
Other electronic products suc h as HAM Radios and other DECT Phones can caus e
interference with your cordless pho ne. Try installing your phone as far away as
possible from these types of elec tronic devices.
Test a working telephone at the telephone wall jack. If an other telephone has the
same problem, the problem is in the teleph one wall jack. Contact your telephon e
service provider.
The telephone line cord may be malfuncti oning. Install a new telephone line co rd.
