Troubleshooting
Caller ID entries do not match the numbe rs I need to dial.
Caller ID service delivers 10 digits (the area c ode plus the seven-digits numb er). If
you need to dial something other 10 digits, see page 3 9 for instructions on changing
the number.
If you dial seven digits for local calls, you may want to us e the home area code
feature (page 14).
Out of range Or No pwr at base shows in the handse t screen.
The handset may be out of range. Move it closer to the tel ephone base.
Make sure the power cord is securely plugged i nto the telephone base. Use a
working electrical outlet not cont rolled by a wall switch.
Reset your telephone by unplugging the power ada pter from the telephone base.
Disconnect the battery from the c ordless handset. Wait for 15 seconds, the n plug in
the power adapter and install the battery ag ain. Place the handset in the telephon e
base and allow up to one minute for the handset and te lephone base to synchronize.
Other electronic products suc h as HAM Radios and other DECT Phones can caus e
interference with your cordless pho ne. Try installing your phone as far away as
possible from these types of elec tronic devices.
New voicemail and show on the display and I don’t know why.
Your telephone has voicemail indication that is se parate from the built-in
answering system. If

appear on the display, then your
telephone has received a signal from your tel ephone service provider that you
have a voicemail message waiting for you to retrieve from yo ur telephone service
provider. Contact your telephone servic e provider for more information on how to
access your voicemail.
I cannot retrieve voicemail messages.
Your telephone has both a built-in answering system and voi cemail indication. They
are independent features and each alert s you to new messages differently (pag e 42).
If you subscribe to voicemail servic e from your telephone service prov ider (charges
may apply), contact your telephone servic e provider for more information on how to
access your voicemail.
The answering system does not answer after th e correct number of rings.
Make sure the answering system is on. When the answerin g system is on, the
/ANS ON/OFF light on the telephone ba se should be lit and ANS ON should s how
on the handset.
If toll saver is selected, the number of rings ch anges to two when there are new
messages waiting (page 17).
If the memory is full or if the answering system i s off, the answering system answers
after 10 rings.
