4.5 NetWare setup - DS mode

This section describes the setting up of the NetWare version 4.xx for IPX/SPX printing using Directory Services (DS) mode.

NOTE:

You must either load the PSERVER.NLM on the server or define the embedded PRINTSERVER in the Xerox 4500 PS TR before connecting the NPRINTER.

1.Type PCONSOLEto start the PCONSOLE program.

2.Make sure that you have the correct curre nt context. If not specify a new by selecting the menu “ Change Context”.

Notice that if the embedded Print Server in the Xerox 4500 PS TR is used, the context must match the EPS context settings in the Xerox 4500 PS TR.

3.Choose “Print Servers” from the menu to service the Xerox 4500 PS TR and select the appropriate printer by pressing ENTER.

4.Select “Printers” from the Print Server Information menu and press INS twice to create a new network printer.

Notice that the number of the network printer must correspond to the number of one the ENP printer definitions in the Xerox 4500 PS TR configuration.

5.Write a name for the printer you wish to create and press ENTER.

6.Select the new printer and press ENTER.

7.In the “Serviced Printers” menu, select the new printer and press

ENTER.

8.In the configuration menu, select “ Printer type”.

9.Select “Other / Unknown”

10.In the configuration menu, select ” Print queues assigned”.

11.Press INS twice to create a new queue.
