Printer Features

Your printer has many special features that allow you to

achieve the results you need for your specific print job.

Features vary slightly according to the options you are

using and the memory installed in your printer. This

section will help you become familiar with your printer's

features and capabilities.

Paper Handling

Your printer has several paper sources and paper output

options as described below and in Figure 1.5 on page 1-9.

For a listing of supported media types and sizes, refer to

the section “Selecting Print Media” (page 2-2).

Input Sources

The standard multi bypass feeder functions as either a single sheet manual feed tray or a tray for up to 100 sheets.

Tray 1 is the standard 550 sheet input source.

Tray 2 is the optional 550 sheet input source installed immediately below Tray 1.

Tray 3 is the optional 550 sheet input source installed immediately below Tray 2.

The envelope feeder is the optional input source that holds approximately 75 standard envelopes.

Trays 1, 2 and 3 all have automatic paper size sensing, low paper sensing and “no paper” sensing. The envelope feeder and multi bypass feeder have paper out sensing. Refer to Chapter 2: Loading Print Media for instructions on loading the trays.
