•Connecting the XM Connect and Play

XM Satellite Radio is the satelliteradio service with millions of listeners across the U.S., broadcastinglive daily.XM's channel lineup includesmore than 130digital channelsof choice fromcoast to coast: 68 commercial-free music claaunels,featuring hip hop to opera, classical to conntrs_bluegrass to blues: 33 channels ofpremier sports,talk, comedy, children's and entertailnnemprogranmaing; and more than 20 channelsof tlaetraffic anti weather inl_rmation lbr major metropolitanareas natiomvide.

Because XM Satellite Radio is a subscription service, you will need to set up an account and activate service with XM using your XM Satellite Radio ID number. To check your ID nmnber, follow "Activating XM Satellite Radio" on page 39. For further information on XM Satellite Radio services, see the XM Satellite Radio website at "http: ' www.xmradio.com".

The XM Satellite Rudio service is only available in the 48 contiguous United States (not available in Alaska and Hawaii).

This section describes the functions of each control used for XM Satellite Radio tuning.

Front panel functions

The %llowing controls are only available when the unit is in the TL_V'4ERmode and the XM Comrect and Play digital antenna is connected to the XM jack on the rear of this unit. (For details, see "XM Satellite Rudio connections".)

"1 SEARCH MODE

Switchesbetweenthe All Cha_melSearch. CategorySearch,and Preset Search modes. (For details, see "XM Satellite Radiosearch modes" on page 41.)

2 XM

Switches the reception band between AM, FM and XM.

3CATEGORY

(All Channel Search mode)

Changes the channel category to next one (while staying in the All Channel Search mode).

(Category Search mode)

Changes the channel category to next one.

(Preset Search mode)

Switches between five preset groups (A to E).

4 PRESET/TUNING/CH I / h

(All Channel Search mode)

Sem'ches a radio channel within all channels. Press and hold for quick search.

(Category Search mode)

Sem'ches a radio channel within the selected category. Press and hold for quick search.

(Preset Search mode)

Changes the preset number (1 to 8).

5 MEMORY

Switches the unit to the preset memory mode.

6 DISPLAY

Switches XM infbrmation such as channel number name, categor?t or artist name/song title displayed in the front panel displa)t (For details, see "Switching XM information" on page 41 .)
