Emission Control System Information
Source of Emissions
Exhaust gas contains carbon monoxide, nitrous oxide (NOx), and hydrocarbons. It is very important to control the emissions of NOx and hydrocarbons as they are a major contributor to air pollution. Carbon monoxide is a poisonous gas. The generator engine utilizes a precise air- fuel ratio and emission control system to reduce the emissions of carbon monoxide, NOx, hydrocarbons.
POLARIS utilizes appropriate
To keep the engine emissions within the emission standards, the following procedures must be followed:
Alterations
Altering the emission control system may increase emissions beyond the legal limit. Some possible alterations are as follows:
•Removal or alteration of any part of the intake, fuel, or exhaust systems
•Altering or defeating the governor linkage or
