TO ADJUST SAW CHAIN:

1.Hold nose of guide bar up and turn a_ustroent screw (D) CLOCKWISE to increase chain tension. Tuming scr,

COUNTERCLOCKWISE will decrease amount of tension on chain. Ensure the chain tits snugly aMthe way arou, Iha guide bar (Figure 3-48).

2.After making adjustment, end while still holding nose of bar in the uppermost position, tighten the bar retaining nt, securely. Chain has proper tension when it has a snug lit all eroend and can be pulled around by gloved hand.

NOTE: If chain Is difficult to rotate on guide bar or if it binds, too much tension has been applied. This requires mir, adjustment as follows:

A.Loosen the 2 bar retaining nuts so they are finger tight. Decrease tension by turning the bar adjustment scr_

COUNTERCLOCKWISE slo_vly.Move chain back and forth on bar. Continoo to adjust until chain rotates freely, I fits snugly. Increase tens:on by turning bar adjustment screw CLOCKWISE.

B.When saw chain has proper tension, hold nose of bar in the uppermost position and tighten the 2 bar retaining n_

3-5. CHAIN BRAKE ® MECHANICAL TEST

Your chain saw is equipped with a CHAIN BRAKE e that reduces possibility of inju W dee to kickback. The brake is activ,_ if pressure is applied against brake lever when, as in the event of kickback, operalor's hand strikes the lever. When i brake is actuated, chain movement slOl_ abruptly.

REGLAGE DE LA CHAINE:

Pour diminuer la tension, toumer la vie de r6glage VERS LA GAUCHE. S'assurerqus la chalne esl bien ajust_e I, eu long du gulde-chalna (Figure 3-4B).

2.Apr_s ie r6giege, en tenant to,ours le "uez* du gutde-chelne vers le haut, resserrer fortement les 6crous

guide-chelne. La cbalne est teedue correctement quand alia est bien ajust6a et Ue I_nd donc plus sous ie guid_, peut _tre avanc6e _ la main (gent6e) sans difrlcuif6.

t.Sostenga la nariz de is barra gula hacie arriba y d6 vuella ai tomigo de ejuste (D) en DIRECCION DE L MANECILLAS DEL RELOJ para incremenlar ie lensk'>nde I_cadena. Dando vuelta al tornillo en DIRECCI_ CONTRARIA DE LAS MANECILLAS DEL RELOJ reducir& ie suma de la tensidn de is cadena. Asegt_rese qtJ,. cadena se amolde ordenadamente todo el camlno alrededor de is barra (Figura 3-4B).

2.Despu6s de hacer el a_ste, y mlentras sostiene la nariz de la barTa en la posici6n m&s alia, apriete firmemonte ' tuercas relenedoras de la barra. La cadena tiene la lenslbn COfTeclacuando se amoida ordenadamenle alreded, puede ser jaiada alrededor por una mano con guante.

NOTA: SI la cadena tiene dificultadee ai set rotada en la barra gala o st se dobla, mucha lenai6n ha sido aplicada. E requiem un aj0ste manor como sigue:

A, Alloje lee 2 tuercas retenedorae de la barra para que queden epreteda_ con los dedos.
