Adjust speed (output) (step 4)

Adjust the speed by adjusting the main jet screw (9) to 11,000 rpm.

Check idle speed (step 5)

After having adjusted the max. speed ensure the idle speed is set to 2,800 rpm. (the chain must not turn). Use the idle jet screw (10) to regulate it. Turn in the screw (10) to speed up, and turn out the screw (10) to speed down the engine.

Check acceleration (step 6)

A

Now check the acceleration, i. e. the time necessary for speeding up from idle speed to max. speed. To do this, press the throttle lever hard.

If the acceleration is too low, turn out the idle jet screw (10) approx. 1/8 rotation.

MAINTENANCE

Sharpening the saw chain STOP

CAUTION: Before doing any work on the guide bar or chain, always switch off the engine and pull the plug cap off the spark plug (see "Replacing the spark plug"). Al- ways wear protective gloves!

The chain needs sharpening when:

The sawdust produced when sawing damp wood looks like wood flour.

The chain penetrates the wood only under great pressure.

The cutting edge is visibly damaged.

The saw is pulled to the left or right when sawing. This is caused by uneven sharpening of the chain.

Important: Sharpen frequently, but without removing too much metal!

Generally, 2 or 3 strokes of the file will be enough.

Have the chain resharpened at a service centre when you have already sharpened it yourself several times.

Proper sharpening:

CAUTION: Use only chains and guide bars designed for this saw (see the Extract from the spare-parts list)!

All cutters must be of the same length (dimension a). Cutters with different lengths result in rough running of the chain and can cause cracks in the chain.

Minimum cutter length is 0.11" (3 mm). Do not resharpen the chain when the minimum cutter length has been reached; at this point, the chain must be replaced (see the Extract from the spare-parts list and "Replacing the chain").

The depth of the cut is determined by the difference in height between the depth limiter (round nose) and the cutting edge.

The best results are obtained with a depth-limiter depth of 0.65 mm (.025").

CAUTION: Excessive depth increases the risk of kickback!

DCS 330 TH specifications

The Makita DCS 330 TH is a powerful and versatile chainsaw designed for professional users who demand high performance and reliability in their tools. This model is particularly favored for its exceptional cutting capabilities, making it an ideal choice for both forestry applications and general landscaping tasks.

One of the standout features of the Makita DCS 330 TH is its robust 32.2 cc 2-stroke engine, which delivers impressive power for cutting through various types of wood. With an engine speed of up to 12,000 RPM, this chainsaw can tackle thick branches and logs with ease, allowing the user to complete their tasks efficiently. The combination of power and lightweight design ensures that users can handle the saw comfortably for extended periods without excessive fatigue.

The chainsaw is equipped with a 12-inch guide bar, which enables precise cutting while maintaining a manageable size for various applications. This length strikes an optimal balance between maneuverability and cutting depth, making the DCS 330 TH an excellent choice for both pruning and felling small to medium-sized trees.

The Makita DCS 330 TH also incorporates advanced technologies that enhance its performance and user experience. One of these technologies is the automatic oil pump, which ensures that the chain is adequately lubricated during operation. This feature not only prolongs the life of the chain and bar but also enhances cutting efficiency and safety.

User comfort is further prioritized through the inclusion of an anti-vibration system that minimizes the impact of vibration during operation. This system significantly reduces user fatigue and allows for more precise control, making it easier to perform detailed cutting tasks.

Safety features are also a prominent aspect of the Makita DCS 330 TH. The chainsaw is designed with a chain brake system that quickly halts the chain in case of kickback, providing an additional layer of protection for the operator. Additionally, the tool's throttle lock ensures that the saw remains stable during operation, preventing accidental starts.

In summary, the Makita DCS 330 TH is a highly capable chainsaw that combines power, comfort, and safety features into one reliable package. Its lightweight design, advanced technologies, and user-friendly characteristics make it an excellent choice for anyone looking to invest in a quality chainsaw for demanding applications.
