Starting the engine

Do not start the saw until it has been completely assem-

bled and inspected!

Move at least 10 feet (3m) away from the place where you

fuelled the saw.

Make sure you have a good footing, and place the saw on the

ground in such a way that the chain is not touching anything.

Engage the chain brake (lock).

Grasp the rear handle firmly in one hand and hold the saw

firmly against the ground. Press with one knee on the rear

A

handle.

Cold start:

Push the short-circuit switch (1) forward.

Pull out the choke (2).

Grasp the handle (thereby pressing in the grip safety (3) with

the palm of the hand).

Press and hold the throttle (4).

Push the half-throttle catch (5) and release the throttle (4) (the

half-throttle catch will hold it at half-throttle).

2

Slowly pull out the starter cable until you notice resistance (the

piston is positioned before the top dead centre).

Now pull the starter cable with a fast and forceful movement

until you hear the first ignition.

4

5

CAUTION: Do not pull out the starter cable more than approx.

20" (50 cm), and lead it back by hand.

3

1

After the first audible ignitions push in the choke (2) and pull the

starting cord again. As soon as the engine is running press the

throttle (4) slightly to release the half-throttle catch (5) so the

engine will idle.

Note: The engine must be brought to idle immediately after

starting, in order to prevent damage to the transmission.

Now release the chain brake.

Warm start:

As described above for cold starting, but without using the

choke (2).

Stopping the engine

STOP

Put the short-circuiting switch (1) in position "STOP".

DCS 330 TH specifications

The Makita DCS 330 TH is a powerful and versatile chainsaw designed for professional users who demand high performance and reliability in their tools. This model is particularly favored for its exceptional cutting capabilities, making it an ideal choice for both forestry applications and general landscaping tasks.

One of the standout features of the Makita DCS 330 TH is its robust 32.2 cc 2-stroke engine, which delivers impressive power for cutting through various types of wood. With an engine speed of up to 12,000 RPM, this chainsaw can tackle thick branches and logs with ease, allowing the user to complete their tasks efficiently. The combination of power and lightweight design ensures that users can handle the saw comfortably for extended periods without excessive fatigue.

The chainsaw is equipped with a 12-inch guide bar, which enables precise cutting while maintaining a manageable size for various applications. This length strikes an optimal balance between maneuverability and cutting depth, making the DCS 330 TH an excellent choice for both pruning and felling small to medium-sized trees.

The Makita DCS 330 TH also incorporates advanced technologies that enhance its performance and user experience. One of these technologies is the automatic oil pump, which ensures that the chain is adequately lubricated during operation. This feature not only prolongs the life of the chain and bar but also enhances cutting efficiency and safety.

User comfort is further prioritized through the inclusion of an anti-vibration system that minimizes the impact of vibration during operation. This system significantly reduces user fatigue and allows for more precise control, making it easier to perform detailed cutting tasks.

Safety features are also a prominent aspect of the Makita DCS 330 TH. The chainsaw is designed with a chain brake system that quickly halts the chain in case of kickback, providing an additional layer of protection for the operator. Additionally, the tool's throttle lock ensures that the saw remains stable during operation, preventing accidental starts.

In summary, the Makita DCS 330 TH is a highly capable chainsaw that combines power, comfort, and safety features into one reliable package. Its lightweight design, advanced technologies, and user-friendly characteristics make it an excellent choice for anyone looking to invest in a quality chainsaw for demanding applications.
