Replacing the spark plug

STOP

CAUTION:

Do not touch the spark plug or plug cap if the engine is running (high voltage).

Switch off the engine before starting any maintenance work. A hot engine can cause burns. Wear protective gloves!

The spark plug must be replaced in case of damage to the

1 insulator, electrode erosion (burn) or if the electrodes are very dirty or oily.

Pull the plug cap (1) off the spark plug. Use only the combina- tion wrench supplied with the saw to remove the spark plug.

CAUTION: Use only the following spark plugs:

NGK BMR 6A or CHAMPION RCJ 8.

Electrode gap

The electrode gap must be .020" (0.5 mm).

Checking the ignition spark

Press the loosened spark plug with the ignition cable firmly

connected against the cylinder using insulated pliers (not near

the spark plug opening).

Press the short-circuit switch forward.

.020"

Pull the starter cable hard.

If the function is correct, an ignition spark must be visible near

(0,5 mm)

the electrodes.

Replacing the starter cable

Remove the filter cover (see ”Cleaning the air filter”).

Unscrew four screws (2). Remove fan housing (3).

Remove all pieces of cable.

Unscrew the screw (4) and remove the washer.

Carefully pull off the cord drum.

Thread in a new cable (1/8" dia. x 35" long) as shown in

Figure B and tie the ends as shown.

Pull knot (5) into the cable pulley (6).

3

Pull knot (7) into the cable grip (8).

Put the cord drum back on and turn gently until the return spring

catches.

7

Wind the cord clockwise around the drum. Then use the

8

starting handle to pull the cord from the drum, hold the drum

still and wind the cord around it again.

CAUTION: Danger of injury! Secure the cable grip when

pulled out! It will whip back if the cable pulley is released

by accident.

NOTE: With the cable pulled all the way out, it must still be

possible to turn the pulley another 1/4 turn against the return

DCS 330 TH specifications

The Makita DCS 330 TH is a powerful and versatile chainsaw designed for professional users who demand high performance and reliability in their tools. This model is particularly favored for its exceptional cutting capabilities, making it an ideal choice for both forestry applications and general landscaping tasks.

One of the standout features of the Makita DCS 330 TH is its robust 32.2 cc 2-stroke engine, which delivers impressive power for cutting through various types of wood. With an engine speed of up to 12,000 RPM, this chainsaw can tackle thick branches and logs with ease, allowing the user to complete their tasks efficiently. The combination of power and lightweight design ensures that users can handle the saw comfortably for extended periods without excessive fatigue.

The chainsaw is equipped with a 12-inch guide bar, which enables precise cutting while maintaining a manageable size for various applications. This length strikes an optimal balance between maneuverability and cutting depth, making the DCS 330 TH an excellent choice for both pruning and felling small to medium-sized trees.

The Makita DCS 330 TH also incorporates advanced technologies that enhance its performance and user experience. One of these technologies is the automatic oil pump, which ensures that the chain is adequately lubricated during operation. This feature not only prolongs the life of the chain and bar but also enhances cutting efficiency and safety.

User comfort is further prioritized through the inclusion of an anti-vibration system that minimizes the impact of vibration during operation. This system significantly reduces user fatigue and allows for more precise control, making it easier to perform detailed cutting tasks.

Safety features are also a prominent aspect of the Makita DCS 330 TH. The chainsaw is designed with a chain brake system that quickly halts the chain in case of kickback, providing an additional layer of protection for the operator. Additionally, the tool's throttle lock ensures that the saw remains stable during operation, preventing accidental starts.

In summary, the Makita DCS 330 TH is a highly capable chainsaw that combines power, comfort, and safety features into one reliable package. Its lightweight design, advanced technologies, and user-friendly characteristics make it an excellent choice for anyone looking to invest in a quality chainsaw for demanding applications.
