Replacing the saw chain

CAUTION:

Use only chains and guide bars designed for this saw (see the Extract from the spare-parts list)!

Check the sprocket (7) before mounting a new chain.

The sprocket is located underneath the clutch drum (8).

CAUTION:

Worn out sprockets (9) may damage the new chain and must therefore be replaced.

Do not attempt to replace the sprocket yourself. Sprocket replacement requires special training and tools and must be done at a MAKITA service centre.

Replacing the suction head

The felt filter (10) of the suction head can become clogged. It is recommended to replace the suction head once every three months in order to ensure unimpeded fuel flow to the carbure- tor.

To remove the suction head for replacement, pull it out through the tank filler neck using a piece of wire bent at one end to form a hook.

Cleaning the air filter STOP

Unscrew screw (11) and remove the filter cover (12).

IMPORTANT: Cover the intake opening with a clean cloth in order to prevent dirt particles from falling into the carburetor.

Remove the filter (13) with foam insert (14).

CAUTION: To prevent injury to the eyes, do NOT blow out dirt particles! Do not use fuel to clean the air filter.

Clean the air filter with a soft brush.

If the filter is very dirty, clean it in lukewarm water with dishwashing detergent.

Let the air filter dry completely.

Put the filter and insert back together.

If the filter is very dirty, clean it frequently (several times a day), because only a clean air filter provides full engine power.

CAUTION:

Replace damaged air filters immediately.

Pieces of cloth or large dirt particles can destroy the engine!

DCS 330 TH specifications

The Makita DCS 330 TH is a powerful and versatile chainsaw designed for professional users who demand high performance and reliability in their tools. This model is particularly favored for its exceptional cutting capabilities, making it an ideal choice for both forestry applications and general landscaping tasks.

One of the standout features of the Makita DCS 330 TH is its robust 32.2 cc 2-stroke engine, which delivers impressive power for cutting through various types of wood. With an engine speed of up to 12,000 RPM, this chainsaw can tackle thick branches and logs with ease, allowing the user to complete their tasks efficiently. The combination of power and lightweight design ensures that users can handle the saw comfortably for extended periods without excessive fatigue.

The chainsaw is equipped with a 12-inch guide bar, which enables precise cutting while maintaining a manageable size for various applications. This length strikes an optimal balance between maneuverability and cutting depth, making the DCS 330 TH an excellent choice for both pruning and felling small to medium-sized trees.

The Makita DCS 330 TH also incorporates advanced technologies that enhance its performance and user experience. One of these technologies is the automatic oil pump, which ensures that the chain is adequately lubricated during operation. This feature not only prolongs the life of the chain and bar but also enhances cutting efficiency and safety.

User comfort is further prioritized through the inclusion of an anti-vibration system that minimizes the impact of vibration during operation. This system significantly reduces user fatigue and allows for more precise control, making it easier to perform detailed cutting tasks.

Safety features are also a prominent aspect of the Makita DCS 330 TH. The chainsaw is designed with a chain brake system that quickly halts the chain in case of kickback, providing an additional layer of protection for the operator. Additionally, the tool's throttle lock ensures that the saw remains stable during operation, preventing accidental starts.

In summary, the Makita DCS 330 TH is a highly capable chainsaw that combines power, comfort, and safety features into one reliable package. Its lightweight design, advanced technologies, and user-friendly characteristics make it an excellent choice for anyone looking to invest in a quality chainsaw for demanding applications.
