The Cisco 7507 has seven slots: slots 2 and 3 for the Route Switch Processors (RSPs), and slots 0, 1, 4, 5, and 6 for the interface processors. There are bays for up to two AC-input or DC-input power supplies.

One power supply is shipped as standard equipment; a second power supply is optional. A second (optional) power supply allows load sharing and increased system availability.
