Chapter 3: Local Management for T1 Service

Timeslots can be utilized in any way chosen. The WPIM-T1/DDS in T1 mode supports Time Division Multiplexing (TDM) allowing channelization of circuits (Timeslots) within the public network. For example, if the WPIM-T1/DDS has access to a full T1 (24 Timeslots), and the user wants to communicate with two other sites, the configuration might look like that shown in Figure 3-2.

Figure 3-3shows a sample configuration for three sites. Of the 24 Timeslots, Site #1 uses 16 to communicate with Site #2 and the remaining 8 to communicate with Site #3. This configuration varies tremendously depending on how the service provider maps out the T1 Timeslots. The service provider indicates which Timeslots are active.
