2.2LEDs

The LEDs on the WPIM-T1/DDS indicate the service that the WPIM-T1/DDS is providing. (See Figure 2-2.) If the T1 LED is lit, the WPIM-T1/DDS is operating in T1 mode. If the DDS LED is lit, the WPIM-T1/DDS is operating in DDS mode.

The host platform displays LED indications of the WPIM-T1/DDS’s operation. For more information on host platform LEDs, refer to the host platform manual.

2.3REQUIRED OPERATIONS

The WPIM-T1/DDS must be configured before connecting to the WAN. The configuration must be performed in the following order:

Choose T1 or DDS mode (Section 2.3.1)

WAN configuration, using QuickSET or Local Management (Section 2.3.2)

2.3.1Choosing T1 or DDS Mode

The mode (T1 or DDS) must be chosen before either QuickSET or Local Management is used to configure the WAN set up.

NOTE

The WPIM-T1/DDS cannot operate in both T1 and DDS mode at the same time. The user must choose one or the other service, but can change it when desired.

When the WPIM-T1/DDS is first powered up, the default is T1.
