4.3USING THE RESET BUTTON

The RESET button shown in Figure 4-2resets and re-initializes the 2H258-17R.

CAUTION: Pressing the RESET button resets the device, and all current switching being performed by the device is halted. A network downtime of up to two minutes will result from this action.

To reset the 2H258-17R processor, press and release the RESET button. The 2H258-17R goes through a reset process for approximately 60 seconds. Additional downtime may result as the device reenters the network.

NOTE: It is not recommended to press the RESET button while the device is already in reset mode. If so, the device will enter an extended diagnostic procedure, which is unnecessary for normal operation. This extended diagnostic procedure takes much longer than a minute.
