CTCSS/CDCSS Operation
Your scanner is equipped with a Continuous Tone Controlled Squelch System (CTCSS) and Continuous Digital Controlled Squelch System (CDCSS) which allow squelch to open only when the tone you have programmed with a specific frequency is received along with a transmission. When using CTCSS or CDCSS, consider the following:
Your Scanner Scan Speed becomes slow while Subaudible Tone function is activated.
You cannot enter CTCSS and CDCSS tones in the AM Air Band.

Programming a CTCSS Tone/CDCSS Tone
1.Select a channel you want to program.
Note: The priority function can not be activated while programming CTCSS/CDCSS codes. Priority may be reactivated after storing codes.
2.Press to activate the Subaudible Tone function.
3.Press/REM.
