Keyboard Installation and Operation

Chapter 2: Connection and Setup

This chapter describes the power and data connections between the ADCC0200/ ADCC0300 keyboard and the switching system being used.

IMPORTANT NOTE

The default setting for the keyboard is RS485 mode at 19200 baud. To change these settings, enter the Special Config menu by pressing SHIFT () and CLEAR () keys within five seconds of powering up the keyboard. Then press one of the following:

to change baud rate.

to change the mode (ADNet RS485, RS232).

to select Auto Repeat or Make/Break mode. See the matrix manual for correct setting. to enable/disable the speaker.

Ancillary Equipment

The keyboard is supplied with one seven foot (2 meters) MP-CBL data connection cable. The MP-KMI keyboard matrix interface (optional) is also supplied with a MP-CBL data connection cable.

The power supply is connected to the jack connector of the MP-KMI keyboard matrix interface. The power supply must be a Class 2 type UL listed 12V DC component.

MP-KMI Keyboard Matrix Interface

The MP-KMI keyboard matrix interface contains two RJ-45 connectors connected to a five-way screw terminal block. The Matrix connector is connected to the switching system and the Keyboard connector to the keyboard using the MP-CBL cable supplied.

Power is supplied to the keyboard via the power connector built in to the MP-KMI.

The power supply is limited to 15W by a 500mA UL listed fuse.
