Preparing Windows 95 For Use on a Network -- Step 1

Once you are back at the Windows 95 desktop, you can make any necessary changes to your system's network settings by clicking on your taskbar's Start button, then Settings, then Control Panel, and then the Network icon.

The Network window will appear. Click on the Configuration tab.

Make sure that the following network components are installed:

Client for Microsoft Networks

Client for Netware Network

Linksys LNE100TX Fast Ethernet Adapter

IPX/SPX-compatible Protocol

NetBEUI

There may be other components listed in addition to the ones shown above. However, if any components shown above are missing, you’ll need to install them manually. Skip to the section entitled Manually Installing Network Components at the back of this guide on page 64.
