FastIron GS Compact Layer 2 Switch Hardware Installation Guide

provides enough power for all the ports. For more information, see “Installing an Additional Power Supply” on page 3-5.

NOTE: A FastIron GS POE device with dual power supplies may not provide redundancy, depending on how much power the POE ports are consuming. See “Power Specifications for POE” on page 2-14.

CAUTION: Remove the power cord from a power supply before you install it in or remove it from the device. Otherwise, the power supply or the device could be damaged. The device can be running while a power supply is being installed or removed, but the power supply itself should not be connected to a power source.

All power supplies are auto-sensing and auto-switching.

Key features

See “Power Supplies” on page 2-12for the key features of the FGS power supplies.
