Setting up mail box for confidential receiving

Before receiving confidential documents, you have to set up the following:

Confidential mail boxes. You can have up to 10 confidential mail boxes.

The password for each mail box

The names for each mail box. If you do not want to assign the name, you can skip this setup.

The following procedure shows how to register this information.

1.Press Menu, then press Mail box on the one-touch keypad. The display prompts that you can choose the three mail box options; 1.CONF. TX and 2.SET, 3.PRINT.

2.Press 2 to set up information for confidential receiving. The LCD prompts you to enter a 2-digit number (01 to 10) of the confidential mail box.

3. Enter the 2-digit number (01 to 10) to create confidential mail box.

Note: If you enter a box number which has already been registered, the fax machine displays ‘CANCEL ?.’ Press 1 to cancel the number already registered. If you press 2 you will be asked to enter the new number.

If there is any message received in the box you have chosen, ‘NUMBER IS REGISTERED!’ is displayed and you will be asked to enter the new number.

4.Press Start/Enter when the number appears correctly in the display. The LCD prompts you to enter a 4-digit password. Password ‘0000’ means no code.

ENTER PASSWORD [0000]

5.Enter a 4-digit security password (0000 to 9999). After you enter the password, it cannot be verified. Write it down and keep it in a secure location for your reference. To change the password, cancel the mail box and setup new mail box with a new password.

This password must be used to print the confidential documents.

6.Press Start/Enter when the password number appears correctly. The LCD prompts you to enter a name.

7.If you want to assign a name to the mail box, enter the name. If not, skip over this step. For details on how to enter letters using the number keypad, see page 2.4.

8.Press Start/Enter. The LCD returns standby mode.
