Installation

Ventilation If you are mounting the V-50HD/V-63HD in an enclosure, leave sufficient space on all sides between it and surrounding objects, as shown in Figure 3-1.This allows heat to disperse, maintaining the proper operating temperature.

Ambient Light

In general, minimize or eliminate light sources directed at the display. Contrast ratio in your

images will be noticeably reduced if light directly strikes the display, such as when a shaft

of light from a window or floodlight falls on the image. Images may then appear washed

out and less vibrant.

Other Considerations

Other considerations and tips that can help improve your installation:

• Keep the ambient temperature constant and below 35°C (95°F). Keep the display away

from heating and/or air conditioning vents. Changes in temperature may cause drifts in

the display circuitry, which may affect performance.

• Keep the display away from devices that radiate electromagnetic energy such as

motors and transformers. Common sources of these include slide projectors,

speakers, power amplifiers and elevators.

Rack-Mounting the DHD

The DHD Controller can be placed on any flat, stable surface such as a shelf or table, or it

Controller

can be rack-mounted using the supplied mounting hardware. Place the DHD Controller in

a location that provdes easy access to the power connector.

To mount the DHD Controller in a standard, 19-inch equipment rack, install the mounting

ears on either side of the chassis using the supplied screws. Then, secure the mounting

ears to the rack.
