Basic Playback

This chapter explains the DPS-10.5’s basic playback functions.

Don’t forget to turn on your TV or projector and select the video input to which the DPS-10.5 is connected. If you’re using an AV receiver or hi-fi amp for audio playback, turn that on as well and select the audio input to which the DPS-10.5 is connected.

If you’re loading a double-sided DVD, load it with the side that you want to play facing down.

2

Place the disc, label side up, onto

the tray.

Make sure that the disc is seated prop-

erly.

Tip: If you press the Play [ ] button, the disc tray will close and, depending on the type of disc, playback will start automatically.

Notes:

The disc tray can be opened even while the DPS-10.5 is on Standby, so you don’t have to turn it on to remove a disc. (The disc tray will take slightly longer to open.)

The DPS-10.5 supports 8 cm and 12 cm discs. To avoid damaging your discs and the DPS-10.5, put the disc in the center of the disc bay.

Only load discs that are supported by the DPS-10.5 (see page 10). Don’t load cartridge-type discs.

To avoid personal injury, keep your hands away from the disc tray as it closes.

Always use the Open/Close [ ] button to open and close the disc tray. Never push the disc tray, and don’t touch it or obstruct it while it’s opening or closing. Don’t press down on the tray while it’s open, and don’t load anything other than supported discs. Doing so may damage your discs and the DPS-10.5.

Since the DPS-10.5 does not support DVD-VR discs with CPRM (Content Protection for Recordable Media), do not attempt to play such discs.
