tRotate [DIAL] until “Tone Squelch” or “tSqL” appears.

“tSqL” disappears after 1 sec. and “to” appears when color LCD is OFF.

yPush [] or rotate the tuning dial while pushing [FUNC] to select “P BEEP” (pocket beep).

uPush [(MODE) SET] to exit set mode and start the pocket beep.

• “P.B” or “T SQL ë” appears in the function display.

iWhen a signal with the correct tone is received, the re- ceiver emits beep tones for 30 sec. and flashes “P.B” or “ë.”

Tone scan

The receiver can detect the subaudible tone frequency in a received signal. By monitoring a signal that is being transmit- ted on a frequency, you can check the tone frequency re- quired to access the repeater, or to open the tone squelch.

qSet the desired frequency or memory channel to be checked for a tone frequency.

wSelect FM mode with [MODE].

ePush [FUNC] + [] for 2 sec. to start the tone scan.

• To change the scanning direction, rotate [DIAL].

rWhen the tone frequency is detected, the set mode con- tents are programmed with the tone frequency.

The tone scan pauses when a tone frequency is detected.

The detected tone frequency is used for the tone squelch fre- quency.

“Ct” appears during tone scan.
