Adjusting the volume

You can adjust the volume in increments from 0 (off) to 66 (maximum).

To increase the volume,

￿turn the volume control 5clockwise. To decrease the volume,

￿turn the volume control 5 counter- clockwise.

Adjusting the power-on volume (On Volume)

You can set the power-on volume. To set a specific power-on volume,

￿press the MENU button A. The menu is displayed.

￿Press the softkey "Volume Settings"

The "Volume" menu is displayed.

￿Press the softkey "On Volume" ;. The current power-on volume is displayed.

￿Press the or button @ or the or button >to adjust the power- on volume between 1 and 66.

To help you adjust the setting more easily, the device will increase or decrease the vol- ume as you make your changes.

When you have finished making your changes,

￿press the OK button Brepeatedly un- til you reach the desired menu level for additional settings or completely exit the menu.

As an alternative, you can select the set- ting "Last Volume" in the "Volume" menu by pressing the softkey :. When you switch on the device, the volume level that was set the last time you switched the device off is activated again.

Notes:

To protect your hearing, the power- on volume is limited to the value "38" for the setting "Last Volume". If the volume was higher before switch-off, the value is automatically set to "38" at switch-on. This prevents an unin- tentionally and unexpectedly high vol- ume when switching on the device.

To undo the "Last Volume" setting, press the softkey "On Volume" ;in the "Volume" menu. The power-on vol- ume set last is displayed and is active

again. You can now leave the menu by pressing the OK button Bor directly set a different power-on volume.

Quickly reducing the volume (Mute)

You can quickly reduce the volume to a pre- set level.

￿Briefly press the On/Off button 3. "MUTE" appears on the display.

Cancelling mute

To return to your previously set volume level,

￿briefly press the On/Off button 3 again.
