(menu) button on the remote control until “D-IN SYNCHRO” is shown in the information display.

3 Press the SET button (main unit/remote control).

The current setting is shown in the information display.

4 Turn the MULTI JOG control or press the 2/3

(menu) button on the remote control to select “START” or “START&STOP”, shown in the information display.

When “START” is selected, only the start of recording is done synchronously with the start of the digital signal.

Press the CANCEL button if you do not want to perform this procedure. The setting is not changed.

5 Press the SET button.

The type of synchronized recording being performed is not indi- cated in the information display during actual recording. When recording is started, only the SYNCHRO indicator is shown in the display window until recording ends.

If the setting is set to “START&STOP”, recording stops auto- matically when the signal from the source is stopped, a disc is changed, or if a track search is performed.

This function is very convenient for recording single songs from external digital CD or MD players.

This function is only for use with externally connected digital audio equipment. It cannot be used with the CD player.

CAUTION

When performing synchronized start recording from an external component, it is possible that part of the signal at the beginning of the first track will not be recorded. If this should occur, please per- form manual recording.
