Introduction

Micrologic™ trip units (A) provide adjustable tripping functions on electronic trip circuit breakers. The product name (B) specifies the level of protection provided by the trip unit.

Type of protection

2—Basic IEC protection (LS0) 3—Basic UL protection (LI) 5—Selective protection (LSI) 6—Selective protection plus ground fault

protection for equipment (LSIG)

Trip unit series 0—Indicates the first version

Type of measurement None—Provides protection only

A—Provides protection plus ammeter measurements

Micrologic trip units are field replaceable to allow for upgrading of the trip unit in the field. For complete information on available circuit breaker models, frame sizes, interrupting ratings, sensor plugs, rating plugs and trip units, see the product catalog.

Communications

Micrologic trip units can communicate with other devices if the optional Circuit Breaker Communication Module (BCM) is installed. For information on the communication module, see the product catalog and Modbus™ Communications System, Data Bulletin 0613IB1201.

Trip Unit Settings

On the face of the trip unit are adjustable switches to allow changing of trip

 

characteristics. Trip units are shipped with the long-time pickup switch set at

 

1.0 and all other trip unit adjustments set at their lowest settings.
