9 Operating Instructions
A. Gas Fireplace Safety
WARNING
HOT SURFACES!
Screens and other surfaces are hot during operation and cool down.
Hot screens will cause burns.
• Do not touch fireplace until it is cooled
•NEVER allow children to touch fireplace
•Keep children away
•CAREFULLY SUPERVISE children in same area as fireplace.
•Alert children and adults to hazards of high temperatures.
High temperatures may ignite clothing or other flammable materials.
•Keep clothing, furniture, draperies and other combustibles away.
If you expect that small children or vulnerable adults may come into contact with this fireplace, the following precau- tions are recommended:
•Install a physical barrier such as:
-A decorative firescreen.
-Adjustable safety gate.
•Keep remote controls out of reach of children.
•Never leave children alone near a hot fireplace, whether operating or cooling down.
•Teach children to NEVER touch the fireplace.
•Consider not using the fireplace when children will be present.

To prevent unintended operation when not using your
fireplace for an extended period of time (summer months, vacations, trips, etc):
•Put module switch in the OFF position (Section 6.A.) to disable all fireplace controls or;
•Remove batteries from remote controls.
•Turn off wall controls.
•Unplug
•Turn off gas shutoff valve.
B. Your Fireplace
WARNING! DO NOT operate fireplace before reading and understanding operating instructions. Failure to operate fire- place according to operating instructions could cause fire or injury.
C. Screens
•Screens are standard on the fireplace.
•Keep screens closed when in operation.
D. Before Lighting Fireplace
Before operating this fireplace for the first time:
•Review proper placement of logs and lava rock.
