REMOVING THE BATTERY PACK

1.Ensure the ON/OFF SWITCH on the battery pack is in the off position.

2.Press down on the battery release latch and slide the battery pack out in the direction of the release latch. See Figure 9.

After receiving a new rechargeable battery pack from the factory, it should be fully charged before placing it into service. This also applies to recharge- able batteries that have been stored for long periods. When the battery pack requires charging the radio will signal the operator with an alert tone and the "BAT" status flag will turn on.
