Blade Speed

The Model G0555/G0555P offers blade speeds of 1500 and 3200 FPM. For general woodwork- ing and most cutting operations, we recommend using the 3200 FPM speed. Keep in mind, the results from different speeds are related to the type of workpiece, the blade being used for the operation, and the feed rate.

Use the chart below as a general guide to blade speed:

and hinge cap screws.

3.Move the motor so that the adjustment cap screw slides to the right of the slot. This will release the tension on the ribbed V-belt.

4.Position the V-belt belt on the pulleys as illus- trated in Figure 45 for the desired speed.

Note: Make sure the ribs of the V-belt are well seated in the pulley grooves.

5.Move the motor so that the adjustment cap screw slides to the left of the slot.

6.Apply enough pressure on the motor so that there is approximately 14" deflection of the V-belt with moderate pressure from your fin- ger between the pulleys, then re-tighten the adjustment and hinge cap screws.

7.Close the lower wheel cover before re-con- necting the bandsaw to power.
