The flip stop can be adjusted anywhere along the slot in the top of the miter fence (see =`^li\,,), and locked in place the same distance away from the blade as your desired width of cut.

In the down position, the flip stop can be used to make multiple cuts of the same width. It can also be pivoted (hence the name “flip”) out of the way to allow longer workpieces to be cut, then pivoted back down to make additional cuts at the specified cutting width.

When the blade tilt stop bolts are properly adjusted, as described on GX^\-,, the blade tilt handwheel allows the operator to tilt the blade to the left, anywhere between 0° and 45°. This is used most often when cutting bevels, compound miters or chamfers. =`^li\,- shows an example of the blade when tilted to 45°.
