HP Pay per use (PPU) manual Introduction

The monthly bill contains a fixed amount (for the hardware, software and services) and a variable amount. The variable amount is based on the usage of the UPS computing resources (disk space and processor cores). The PPU and URS usage data is stored in the Utility database at HP on a per-UPS-computing-resource basis.

The communication from the Utility Meter to the PPU Partition is secure WBEM (HTTPS on port 5989). This port must be open from the Utility Meter to any PPU partition that needs to be metered. Consult the network administrator if special firewall configuration is necessary.

No proxy server can be configured between the PPU partition(s) and the Utility Meter. There can be a proxy server between the Utility Meter and the Internet for HTTPS traffic.
