At Hewlett-Packard, we do everything we can to make sure that you'll never have to read this page. But if you do have a problem, just follow the steps in the problem solving process, and you'll soon be faxing again.

First Year Warranty Programs

HP guarantees the operation of HP FAX facsimiles during the first year of ownership. HP will either replace or repair any HP FAX facsimile that fails under normal use during the warranty period.

HP Express Exchange

HP will deliver a remanufactured replacement unit to you and arrange for the return of your non-working unit to HP.

Standard Return

HP will repair your original unit and return it to you.

HP Extended Warranties

Extended warranties may be obtained by calling HP, or by purchasing the SupportPack (part number H5465A) from your dealer within 30 days of your FAX purchase.

Problem Solving Process

1.Review the troubleshooting chapter in the User's Guide.

The fastest way to solve problems is to take the corrective steps outlined in troubleshooting.

2.Make sure you are operating your HP fax machine in the correct environment.

HP fax products are not supported with roll-over phone systems, voicemail, or other advanced features provided by your phone company.

3.Gather some basic information before you call.

If you suspect that your HP fax machine will have to be returned or exchanged, be sure to have the following information readily available before you contact HP or your dealer:

:Product name and serial number

:Description of failure

:Purchase date and proof of purchase

:A valid credit card or purchase order number (required for HP's Express Exchange)

4.Call your dealer or the HP Customer Support Center.

If you can't resolve the problem after reviewing the troubleshooting chapter, you can contact either your dealer or the HP Customer Support Center for further assistance.

An HP Customer Support representative will guide you through the following process to quickly determine and solve any problems you may have:

:Setup and Operation Problems

:Remote Diagnostics

:Arranging Repair
