5.The grate is located in the lower cavity. Remove the screw holding the grate in place and discard the screw.
6.Position the grate into the cutout in the refractory. Hook the grate into position using the tabs on the bottom of the grate. Make sure the grate is pulled forward on the refractory (see Figure 4).
7.Cut shrink wrap and remove from around the log assembly.
NOTICE: Remove all packaging from logs.
8.Install embers. See Ember Placement section of the Owner’s Manual for details.
WARNING! Risk of Explosion! Follow em- ber placement instructions in manual. DO NOT place embers directly over burner ports. Replace ember material annually. Improperly placed embers interfere with proper burner operation.
9.Carefully position the log set in the fireplace. Pull the log set forward until the log set contacts the log placement tabs. Center the log set in the firebox side to side as shown in Figure 5. Grate has been removed in Figure 5 photo only for purpose of illustration.
