Before using the cooktop/hob

Before using your Galaxy cooktop clean it with warm soapy water and a soft cloth to remove dust. Check that the electricity is switched on in order for the electronic ignition to work.

Choose the cooktop control knob for the burner you want to use. Press down and turn the knob anti clockwise all the way to the HI symbol. Hold down the knob for 5 seconds

until the burner lights. All the igniters will spark until the gas ignites on the selected burner. The flame can be adjusted anywhere between the HI symbol and the LO symbol.

Do not regulate the flame between high and the OFF position.

Check that the power is switched on allowing the electronic ignition to work. Check that the burner rings are placed correctly.

Clean electrode tips with a toothbrush and methylated spirits.

The wok burner may need a moment to stabilise the inner ring of flame. Check that you know how the flame failure device works (see below). Check the gas supply is turned on.
