■ Ensure that all wiring closets have doors with locks to prevent unauthorized access.

■ Provide adequate overhead lighting in the wiring closet for easy maintenance.

■ Ensure that each wiring closet has a suitable ground. All metal racks,

	enclosures, boxes, and raceways in the closet should be grounded.
	■ Assign wiring closet identification numbers using architectural
	location codes or some type of floor grid matrix.
	■ Ensure that all system environmental requirements are met (such as
	ambient temperature and humidity).
Distribution Rack	This section describes the basic mechanical and space requirements for

Mechanical Racks should comply with the standards and requirements mentioned in Requirements the cabling system plan and should conform to conventional standards.

In the United States, use EIA Standard RS-310C: Racks, Panels, and Associated Equipment. In countries other than the United States, use IEC Standard 297: Dimensions of Panels and Racks.
