3Insert the card into the chassis by placing it between the guides of the selected slot and sliding the card until it stops.

4Grab both inject handles and push them inward. This locks the card into the chassis. You may have to apply considerable pressure to the handles. An audible “click” indicates that the connectors have engaged.

5Tighten the card’s securing screws. You are now ready to connect cables to the appropriate ports.

Replacing a Switch To hot-swap the switch module:

1Disconnect the cables from the card's ports. Ensure that there is a record of where the cables are attached so that you can correctly re-connect them to the new card.

2Loosen the screws at the extreme right and left of the card, near the insert/eject handles.

3Grasp the insert/eject handles of the card you want to replace and push them outward. This ejects the card. You may have to apply considerable force to the handles. You will hear a “click” to indicate that the connections have separated, and the card will slide slightly forward out of the CoreBuilder chassis.

4Remove the new card from its antistatic bag. Place the old card in the antistatic bag and set it aside in a safe place.

5Orient the card so its labelling is upright and make sure the inject handles are in the outward position.

6Insert the card into the chassis by placing it between the guides of the selected slot and sliding the card until it stops.

7Grab both inject handles and push them inward. This locks the card into the chassis. You may have to apply considerable pressure to the handles. An audible “click” indicates that the connectors have engaged. Verify that the card has been properly installed by observing its LEDs.

8Tighten the card’s securing screws.

9Connect cables to the appropriate ports.
