Configuring the PowerVault 65xF storage system for redundant operation requires dual host bus adapters in each server. Follow these instructions to cable the dual host bus adapters to the PowerVault storage system.

NOTE: The following procedure assumes that you are using copper interface cables. If you are using optical fiber interface cables, refer to Installing Optical Fiber Interface Cablesfound later in this chapter for additional instructions on cabling your cluster.

1.Connect the HSSDC of the first interface cable to the first host bus adapter on the primary node.

2.Connect the other end of the cable (the DB-9 connector) to the 9-pin connector on port A of the SP-A storage processor module (see Figure 2-1).

3.Connect the HSSDC connector on the second interface cable to the second host bus adapter on the primary node.

4.Connect the other end of the cable to the 9-pin connector on port A of the SP-B module.

5.Repeat steps 1 through 4 for the secondary server, except connect the DB-9 con- nector of each cable to port B on the SP-A and SP-B modules.
