FOR CONFIGURATION
You can configure and manage the modem through the
•Determine the IP addresses and subnet masks for LAN and WAN ports, as applicable (page 22).
•Initially, use the
–configure IP addresses and subnet masks for the LAN and WAN ports (both ports have a default IP address and subnet mask)
–enable DHCP if you want the modem to serve IP addresses to devices on the LAN (the default for DHCP is disabled)
–set up parameters for bridging and routing
•Then, configure other parameters, such as system configuration, and manage the modem through either the Web pages or SNMP. You will configure ADSL parameters by accessing the Megabit Modem 410 only.
When you configure and manage the Megabit Modem 410 and 420 through the Web pages, set up a PC and a Web browser using the set up procedures provided in this chapter. Then, learn how you can access and navigate the Megabit Modem 410F and 420F Web pages.
