Managing Modems in Routing or Bridging/Routing Mode

The following is a sample configuration for setting the IP addresses and subnet masks when only routing mode or both routing mode and bridging mode are enabled. Note that there must be three IP subnets: 410F LAN, 420F LAN, and the 410F to 420F ADSL (WAN). When you connect to a modem either locally or remotely, use either the modem 10/100BASE-T LAN port or ADSL (WAN) port IP address, respectively.

The IP addresses in the figure below are for example only. Acquire your own IP addresses from your network administrator or service provider.

The default IP address for the 10/100BASE-T LAN port is 192.168.0.1 and the IP subnet mask is 255.255.255.0. If you want to view or change the default IP address for the modem, see “Using the RS-232 management Port for Set Up” on page 24 for instructions.
