Sewing overcasting stitches using the optional side cutter

Using the optional side cutter, seam allowances can be finished while the edge of the fabric is cut off. Five stitches can be used to sew overcasting stitches with the side cutter.

Manual background CAUTION

Be sure to turn off the main power before replacing the pressor foot. Otherwise, injuries may occur if Manual background (Start/stop button) is accidentally pressed and the machine starts sewing.

Note

zThread the needle manually when using the side cutter, or only attach the side cutter after threading the needle using the needle threader.

aRemove the presser foot.

• For details on replacing the presser foot, refer to "Replacing the presser foot" (page 43).
