Starting to sew

Starting to sew

Once you are ready to start sewing, you can start the sewing machine. Sewing can be started and stopped using the operation button ■Using the operation button (Start/stop button) or the foot controller. For details on the foot controller, refer to next page.

Memo

zWhen the foot controller is plugged in, bPress  (Start/stop button) once. (Start/stop button) cannot be used to start or stop sewing.

Using the operation button

Sewing can be started and stopped using the operation button dCut the threads. (Start/stop button).

aSlide the sewing speed controller to the left or right to select the desired sewing speed.

Slide the sewing speed controller to the left to sew at a slower speed, or slide the speed controller to the right to sew at a faster speed.

zThe machine will sew at a slow speed at the

beginning of sewing.

z If you press and hold the

(Start/stop

button) while sewing, the machine will sew at a slow speed. If you use this function at the point just before the position where you want to stop the machine, you can stop the machine exactly.

cWhen the end of the stitching is reached, press Manual background (Start/stop button) once.

XThe machine stops sewing with the needle lowered (in the fabric).

dCut the threads.

For details, refer to "Cutting the thread" (page 55).

Note

zThis machine will automatically stop when the bobbin becomes almost empty. When the machine stops, replace the bobbin

thread, and then press Manual background (Start/stop button) to begin sewing again.
