Selecting stitching

Stitches are selected using LCD operations. There are 67 utility stitches. Right after turning the power on, the straight stitch (left needle position) is selected.

aDetermine the stitch to be used, and get the matching presser foot ready.

• Refer to "Stitch Setting Chart" (page 70).

bAttach the presser foot.

The machine comes with zigzag foot "J" attached.

For details, refer to "Replacing the presser foot" (page 43).

CAUTION

zUse the presser foot appropriate for the stitch. If the wrong presser foot is used, the needle may hit the presser foot and bend or break.

cTurn on the sewing machine.

XThe straight stitch (left needle position) is shown selected on the screen.

dSelect (Previousa stitch. page key) displays the previous

page, and (Next page key) displays the next page.

zWhen touching the screen with your finger is difficult, use the included touch pen.

XThe number of selected stitch, the stitch width and the stitch length are displayed.

eIf necessary, specify the settings, for automatic reverse/reinforcement stitching and adjust the stitch length, etc.

Note

zWhen a stitch is selected, the icon for the presser foot that should be used appears on the screen. Check that the correct presser foot is attached before starting to sew. If the wrong presser foot is installed, turn off the sewing machine, attach the correct presser foot, and then select the desired stitch again.
