7 - 7 MESSAGE CENTER (FAX-1940CN ONLY)
ICM Recording Monitor
This feature lets you turn the speaker volume for voice messages On
or Off. When you turn the monit or Off, you will not hear messages
as they come in.

Press Menu/Set, 2, 7, 3.

Use ▲ or ▼ to select Off (or On).
Press Menu/Set.

Press Stop/Exit.
Recording a conversation
If you are using the handset, you can record a telephone
conversation by pressing Play/Record during the conversation.
Your recording can be as long as the Incoming Message Maximum
Time. The other party will hear an intermittent beep while recording.
To stop recording, press Stop/Exit.
Record Fax/Tel Outgoing Anno uncement (F/T OGM)
This is the announcement pl ayed by your Brother machine (not an
external TAD) when someone calls and your machine is set to
Fax/Tel receive mode. Although callers hea r your announcement,
they cannot leave a message. By choosing F/T OGM (not Msg Ctr
OGM) you can record the announcem ent using the same steps as for
the Message Center out going message. (See Re cording Message
Center Outgoing Message on page 7-2.) You can also listen to and
erase the F/T OGM the sa me way, by choosing F/T OGM (not Msg
Ctr OGM). (See Listening to Outgoing Message (OGM) on page 7-3
and Erasing Outgoing Message (OGM) on page 7-3.)
