If you are having difficul ty sending or receiving a fax due to possible

interference on the phone line, we recommend that you adjust the

Equalization for compatibility with your phone line. The machine

adjusts the modem speed for f ax operations.

Press Menu/Set, 2, 0, 1.

Press ▲ or ▼ to select Basic,

(orNormal).

Press Menu/Set.

Press Stop/Exit.

For FAX-1940CN, MFC-3240C and MFC-3340CN, you can

select High to return to 33600 bps.

■Basic reduces the modem speed to 9600 bps. Unle ss

interference is a recurrin g problem on your phone line, you

may prefer to use it only when ne eded.

■Normal sets the modem speed at 14400 bps.
