DISP.Shooting Information Display
About the Highlight Alert
When theshooting information is displayed, any overexposed areas of the
image will blink. Toobtain more imagedetail in the overexposedareas, set
theexposure compensation to anegative amountand shoot again.
About the Histogram
The brightness histogram shows the exposure level distribution and
overall brightness. TheRGB histogram is for checking the color
saturation and gradation. The display can be switched with [3:
Histogram].
[Brightness] Display SampleHistograms
This histogram isa graph showing the distribution of
theimage's brightness level.The horizontal axis
indicatesthe brightness level(darker on the left and
brighteron the right), while the verticalaxis indicates Darkimage
howmany pixelsexist for each brightness level. The
more pixelsthere aretoward the left, the darker the
image. And the more pixels there are toward the right, Normalbrightness
thebrighter the image. If there aretoo many pixelson
theleft, the shadow detail will be lost. And if there are
toomany pixels on the right, the highlight detail will be
lost.The gradationin-between will bereproduced. By
checkingthe image and its brightness histogram, you
can see the exposure level inclination and theoverall gradation.
[RGB] Display
This histogram isa graph showing the distribution of each primary color's
brightness level in the image (RGB or red, green, andblue). The horizontal
axis indicates thecolor's brightnesslevel (darker on the left and brighter on
theright), while the vertical axis indicates howmany pixels exist for each
color brightnesslevel. Themore pixels there are toward the left, the darker
andless prominentthe color. And the more pixelsthere are toward the right,
thebrighter and denser the color. If there are too many pixels on the left, the
respectivecolor informationwill be lacking. Andif there are too many pixels
onthe right, the color will betoo saturatedwith nodetail. By checking the
image's RGB histogram, you can seethe color's saturationand gradation
condition and white balanceinclination.
