Basic Operation

After pressing the <Q> button, tap the <5> dial’s inner ring at the top, bottom, left, or right.

9Multi-controller

The <9> consists of an eight-direction key and a button at the center.

Use it to select the AF point, correct

the white balance, move the AF point

or magnifying frame during Live View

shooting, scroll around magnified

images during playback, operate the

Quick Control screen, etc.

You can also use it to select or set menu options (except [31: Erase images] and [51: Format card]). For menus and the Quick Control screen, the Multi-controller works only in the vertical and horizontal directions. It does not work in diagonal directions.

Vertical Shooting

The camera bottom has vertical-grip buttons and a dial (p.18, 19).

Before using the vertical grip’s

buttons and dial, set the vertical-grip

ON/OFF switch to <1>.

When not using the vertical shooting controls, set the switch to <2> to prevent accidental operation.

The vertical grip’s Multi-function button 2 and depth-of-field preview button (p.18) will function even when the Vertical-grip ON/OFF switch is set to <2>.
