Playback

Problem

Pressing the playback button does not start playback.

Image will not appear on the TV screen.

Tape is running, but image will not appear on the TV screen.

No sound from the built-in speakeE

Noise comes outofthe headphones.

Cause

Camcorder is turned off, or is not set to PLAY (VCR) mode.

The TAPE/CARD switch is set to CARD.

Cassette is not loaded.

Tape reached the end

(" _] END" flashes on the screen).

lAY/PHONES _"_ ] is set to [PHONES _] in the menu.

[AV_ DV] is set to [ON] in the menu.

TV/VIDEO selector on the TV is not set to VIDEO.

Video heads are dirty.

You attempted to play back or dub copyright protected tape.

Speaker volume is turned off.

[AV/PHONES _-} ] is set to [AV] in the menu.

Solution

Set the camcorder to PLAY (VCR) mode.

Set the TAPE/CARD switch to TAPE.

Load a cassette.

Rewind the tape.

Set [AV/PHONES _' ] to [AV] in the menu.

Set lAY _ DV] to [OFF] in the menu.

Set the selector to VIDEO.

Clean the video heads. Stop playback/d ubbing.

Adjust the volume with the SET dial.

Set [AV/PHON ES _}] to [PHONES _C)] in the menu.

Editing

Problem

Dubbing via the camcorder's DV terminal does not work.

Cause

[AV_ DV] is setto [ON] in the menu.

Wrong signalformat.

Solution

Set [AV _ DV] to [OFF] in the menu.

Dubbing may work via the AV terminal.

Refer also to the instruction manual of the connected device.
