CR1616:
Replace the battery with a CR1616 made by Panasonic, Hitachi Maxell, Sony,
Toshiba, Varta or Renata. Use ofother batteries may present arisk offire or
explosion.
CR2025:
• Replace the battery with a CR2025 made by Panasonic, Hitachi Maxelk Sony, Sanyo,
or with Duracel12025. Use of other batteries may present arisk of fire or explosion.
O Do not pick up the battery using tweezers or other metal tools as this will cause a short
circuit.
O Wipe the battery with aclean dry cloth to ensure proper contact.
O Keep the battery outof reach of children. If it is swallowed, seek medical assistance
immediately. The battery case may break and the battery fluids may damage stomach
and intestines.
O Do notdisassemble, heat or immerse the battery in water to avoid the risk of explosion.
O Rewind tapes after use. If the tape becomes slack and damaged, it may cause picture
and sound distortion.
O Return cassettes in the case and store them upright.
O Do not leave the cassette in the camcorder after use.
O Do not use spliced tapes or nonstandard cassettes as they may damage the
camcorder.
O Do notuse tapes that have been jammed as video heads may become dirty.
O Do not insert anything into the small holes of the cassette, or cover them with
cellophane tape.
O Handle cassettes with care. Do not drop or subject them to severe impact as this may
damage the cassettes.
O Rewind tapes from time totime ifthey are stored for along time.
O With cassettes equipped with a memory function, metal plated terminals may become
dirty with use. Clean the terminals with a cotton swab after about 10 times of loading/
unloading. The memory function is not supported by the camcorder.

Protecting Tapes from Accidental Erasure

To protect your recordings from accidental
erasure, slide the tab on the cassette toSAVE
or ERASE OFR
If you load aprotected cassette in CAMERA
mode, the message "THE TAPE IS SET FOR
ERASURE PREVENTION" appears for
approx. 4 seconds and "_" starts flashing.
If youwish to record on that cassette, change the position of the tab.
