Configuring a Proxy Without ASR

To start the proxy without application-specific routing (ASR), start the proxy and then define the H.323 name, zone, and QoS parameters on the interface whose IP address the proxy will use. To start the proxy without ASR, use the following commands beginning in global configuration mode:

	Router(config)# proxy h323	Starts the proxy feature.

	Router(config)# interface type number [name-tag]	Configures an interface type and enters interface
	Cisco 4000 Series with Channelized T1 or E1 and the Cisco MC3810	configuration mode.
		The keywords and arguments are as follows:
	Router(config)# interface serial	• type—Specifies the type of interface to be
	number:channel-group
	To configure a subinterface, use these forms of the interface	configured. (See Table 26 that follows this
		configuration task table.)
	global configuration command:	• number—Specifies the port, connector, or
	Cisco 7200 Series	interface card number. On a Cisco 4000 series
		router, specifies the network process monitor
	Router(config)# interface type
		(NPM) number. The numbers are assigned at the
	slot/port-adapter/port.subinterface-number
		factory at the time of installation or when added

		to a system, and they can be displayed with the
	Cisco 7200 Series and Cisco 7500 Series with a Packet over SONET	show interfaces command.
	Interface Processor	• name-tag—(Optional) Specifies the logic name
	Router(config)# interface type slot/port	to identify the server configuration so that
	Cisco 7500 Series	multiple entries of server configuration can be
		entered. This optional argument is for use with
	Router(config)# interface type	the Redundant Link Manager (RLM) feature.
	slot/port-adapter.subinterface-number [multipoint	• slot—Specifies the number of the slot being
	point-to-point][ethernet serial]
		configured. Refer to the appropriate hardware
	Cisco 7500 Series with Channelized T1 or E1	manual for slot and port information.
	Router(config)# interface serial	• port—Specifies the number of the port being
	slot/port:channel-group	configured. Refer to the appropriate hardware
	Cisco 7500 Series with Ports on VIP Cards	manual for slot and port information.
		• port-adapter—Specifies the number of the port
	Router(config)# interface type
		adapter being configured. Refer to the
	slot/port-adapter/port [ethernet serial]
		appropriate hardware manual for information
		about port adapter compatibility.
		• ethernet—(Optional) Specifies an Ethernet
		IEEE 802.3 interface.
		• serial—(Optional) Specifies a serial interface.
